Teal was everywhere,
Even “Teal Toes”!

This year’s event was very different for me than last year. Last year, I didn’t know anyone involved in the Walk/Run. This year I knew lots of people and I’m now participating in many events sponsored by the Ovarian Cancer Coalition of Greater California.

The weekend before the event, I took two of my grandsons with me to do some volunteer work. When we started filling participant bags, there were only a few along the wall. By the time we finished, they stood in a sea of black bags

They were so excited about their accomplishments. The boys told me at first they thought it was going to be boring, but they said it turned out to be so much fun. They had a great time and want to do it again!

The following weekend we all got up early and headed out to CBS studios for the Walk/Run. This year I was given a table. I enlisted a team of family and friends to raise money for the event. My team was “Beating Ovarian Cancer. Com.

Here’s the team around my table. While most of my time, was spent at the table promoting my book, I did manage to participate in the 5K Walk. Everyone had a fun filled day participating in several events. The kids had a blast getting their faces painted; playing with balloons blown up as swords and showing off their medals from the Kiddie K. It was a wonderful day benefiting an important cause.
