36th Annual Cancer ConventionAugust 30 – September 1, 2008
This event is all about alternative treatments for cancer. While the event has been held 36 times prior, it was the first time I’d ever heard of it. Since my book contains lots of alternatives, I thought it would be a good fit… and it was. I know ovarian cancer isn’t as common as many other types of cancers, but I didn’t let that fact deter me. I purchased a table and calculated how many book sales I would need over the three-day period to break even. It seemed reasonable, so I did it. While I spent most of my time at the table, I did manage to get away long enough to see most of the exhibits… thanks to some special friends! My friend Dolby worked with me Saturday and Monday, while Stacey helped me out on Sunday. The best part was all the fabulous people I met. I met doctors, writers, survivors and others. One man is researching alternatives and documenting results under strict guidelines. He is a retired dentist, Victor Diamond. His work looks very detailed and I imagine it is costing a tremendous amount of money and time. I was fortunate in meeting him and I’m hoping to participate in some of his studies. I’ll keep you posted on this. Peter Starr is another wonderful man I met who writes for a newspaper. After the event we worked together on an article for his column. Although I haven’t seen it yet, I have spoke with him several times and it looks like the article will be out soon. Everyday there were many new people attending the convention. The event had courses, lectures, seminars, movies and exhibits. The exhibits were very exciting. There were so many. I tried to collect information from as many booths and tables as possible. I had some great people on both sides of my table. On one side there were ladies from Ki Energy Healing Center in Los Angeles. I was fortunate enough to get a treatment. It was really amazing too. The treatments are given by Ki Energy Masters. They combine sound vibration and touch to open energy blockages, release toxins and enable healing. For days afterward, I felt energized and balanced. It was an experience I’d recommend to anyone! There were many products, literature and machines that could be purchased. There were Rife machines, water machines, foot massage machines and more. There were herbs, vitamins, crystals, saunas and so many healthy alternatives. What interested me the most were some of the new products specifically targeted for cancer. Some of these products had amazing testimonials regarding cancer. It was these products that I researched and followed up in the weeks after the convention. I learned a great deal from this convention and found some new alternatives I’ve incorporated into my daily routine. My life program is always expanding and changing as more and more valuable information becomes available. I keep the emphasis on healthy products, common sense, and faith in my choices. I look forward to participating in this event again. It was lots of fun and very educational. For more information about this annual event go to the Cancer Control Society website. |

My friend Dolby found out about this event and passed it along to me. Since my book was fresh off the press, we thought this might be a good place to start introducing it.
